Dinosaurs that lived long ago are documented as either Ornithischian, or Saurischian. Ornithischian, or bird hipped dinosaurs were named this because they had hips that closely related to birds, and Saurischian dinosaurs had hips related to reptiles, and they are called lizard hipped dinosaurs.

But strangely Saurischian are now the birds we know and love today, due to the process of evolution! But the Ornithischian Dinosaurs went extinct. So that means that birds are the closest ancestors to dinosaurs!
